Supplier & Partnering RelationshipsI.C.R. has on-going purchasing relationships with numerous suppliers in the region. It is essential that I.C.R. work closely with materials suppliers in coordinating purchases and deliveries to prevent delays on jobs. I.C.R. regularly purchases wallboard, studs, screws and accessories. Lifts and other special equipment are either owned by I.C.R. or rented from appropriate rental companies. I.C.R. strives to plan purchases and rentals well in advance on all jobs so that last minute rush orders for delivery are eliminated. Rush orders cause stress to suppliers and foremen alike and are a common cause of job delays in the industry. By closely monitoring all jobs and working with job foremen, the Project Manager anticipates materials required and submits orders regularly to give suppliers time and flexibility in delivering. Because of this, suppliers are eager to work with the company. Benefits of maintaining strong working relationships with vendors include favorable payment terms and responsive service. Early payment discounts allow the company to increase profit margins. I.C.R. informally evaluates supplier performance using the following criteria as guidelines:
